With parallel and complementary series for Historic Formula 2 and the Derek Bell Trophy, the Historic Sports Car Club has underlined its status as the go-to club for racing powerful period single seaters in the UK.
In 2024, the HSCC will offer owners of racing cars from the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s the chance to race in a sporting competitive environment where good driving standards and car eligibility are key pillars of the Club’s ethos.
Historic Formula 2 is set for a golden season with 10 races at five high profile events in a partnership between the HSCC and HVM Racing in France. Historic Formula 2 is one of the pinnacle category in historic single seater racing and caters for Formula 2 and Formula Atlantic cars from up to the end of 1978. The HSCC has nurtured Historic F2 since 2007 and the category will be going into its 18th season with the Club in 2024.
Meanwhile, complementing Historic F2 will be the Derek Bell Trophy, which also accommodates Historic F2 and Atlantic cars as well as a wider array of single seaters, ranging from Formula 5000 through to Classic Formula 3 and Classic Formula Ford 2000.
The Derek Bell Trophy has an excellent domestic calendar, taking in the best UK tracks and offers tremendous value for money. By dovetailing the two calendars, the HSCC will give car owners the widest and best choice of events for the 2024 season.
Andy Dee-Crowne, CEO of the HSCC, said: “We are delighted to have Historic Formula 2 and the Derek Bell Trophy as key elements of our portfolio once more in 2024. By arranging the dates carefully, we can offer car owners two fantastic race series covering the main UK circuits and some wonderful European venues. The HSCC has long been the place for powerful period single seaters and we very much see that continuing in 2024 and beyond.”
