The Historic Sports Car Club has taken the wraps off the second year of the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup, the race series for touring cars from the 1970s right through to 2006.

The series first ran in 2019 when it drew very encouraging grids but the 2020 season was largely lost to the COVID pandemic. Now, three double-header rounds at high-profile dates at premier UK tracks will make up the 2021 schedule.

The series covers three distinct groups of saloon and touring cars: Group 1, Group A and Super Touring/S2000. All three groups will have a dedicated podium after each race and attractive entry fees are an important part of the overall package. The entry fee for a 20-minute qualifying session and two 20-minute races is provisionally set at £555.

The 2021 schedule for the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup is:

22/23 May: Silverstone Grand Prix circuit (International Trophy)

26/27 June: Donington Park

28-30 August: Oulton Park Gold Cup

Andy Dee-Crowne, CEO of the HSCC, said: “We’re looking forward to the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup, which will feature great cars, leading tracks, friendly and well-run race meetings and very competitive entry fees. We’re keen to hear from anyone with a suitable car, whether they have raced with us before or not. Series chairman Andrew Warner will be talking to all competitors, old, new and prospective, over the coming weeks.”
