The Historic Sports Car Club will celebrate the diversity of historic racing in a special display at Autosport International at the NEC Birmingham (9-12 January).

A feature display of up to 10 cars showcasing the wonderful range of cars that compete in the club’s 15 championships and series will be a key point of the historic element of the show, which annually attracts over 80,000 visitors. The display will include cars as varied as mighty Formula 5000 single-seaters and production-based Road Sports cars of the 1960s and 70s.

To celebrate the club’s racing programme, which is bigger than ever in 2014, the club will be inviting a range of former champions from some of the categories represented. It is hoped to have former racers from Formula 5000, Formula 3 and Touring Cars on hand for an informal gathering on the stand at 11am on Friday morning.

“Autosport International is the start point for the new motor sport season and we will be delighted to be there with another feature display,” said Grahame White, CEO of the HSCC. “This is a perfect opportunity to show the range of historic racing to a very wide audience.”

In recent years, the HSCC has celebrated 2-litre sports cars, Formula 5000, Formula 3 and touring cars at Autosport International.
