The Historic Sports Car Club has made the decision to cancel its two half-hour races due to run within the Spa Classic Six-Hour meeting at the end of September.
It is important to stress that the rest of the Spa Six-Hour meeting is currently going ahead as planned (25-27 September), albeit behind closed doors with no spectators.
Traditionally, the HSCC has taken a grid slot at the popular Spa-Francorchamps race meeting for a range of closed-wheel cars from across the Club’s portfolio of races. However, in light of the on-going situation regarding travel to and from the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision has been made to withdraw from this year’s event.
HSCC CEO Andy Dee-Crowne said: “As we have said before, the well-being our of teams and drivers is the most important consideration. The Spa event is now less than a month away and the pandemic situation is constantly changing. It was important to make a clear decision in good time for our members who were planning to go. We fully expect to be back at the event in 2021 and we wish Vincent Collard and his team at Roadbook every success with running the 2020 event.”
