Two Allcomers grids for any pre-2000 car will run at the HSCC Cadwell Park meeting on Sunday 7 May with an entry fee of just £295 for qualifying and two 20-minute races.

Under the heading of the Coronation Cup races, to honour the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday 6 May, there will be one closed-wheel grid and one open-wheel grid to accommodate as wide a range of cars as possible.

The grids, which are open to everyone and not just Historic Sports Car Club racing members, will be a fantastic way of having great value quality track time with an entry fee for the two races of only £295. The races could appeal to drivers already competing at Cadwell Park that weekend and are also being thrown open to any driver who wants to have a pair of races for under £300.

Apart from the two-litre engine capacity limit at Cadwell Park for single seaters, the races will be left very open in terms of eligibility and cars do not need any type of historic documentation or paperwork. Providing the car is based on a pre-2000 model in some way, then there is a place for it.

Andy Dee-Crowne, CEO of the HSCC, said: “We have a little space in our Cadwell Park timetable and we thought we would throw it open for anybody who wants to come along and race with us. We have a great paddock atmosphere, a busy weekend of historic racing and here is a chance for anyone with a car who wants to come to the fantastic Cadwell Park circuit to have two exceptional value races all in one day.”
