SUMMARY:Oulton Park
DESCRIPTION:The Oulton Park Gold Cup meeting (29 to 31 July) will have a fresh look for 2022 as part of a partnership between MotorSport Vision and the HSCC to further enhance the spectator appeal of this incredibly popular event. The focus this year will be on selected HSCC categories joined by a diverse array of other historic and classic racing from other organisers. \nOulton Park is a fabulous place to go racing\, and the park land setting is a glorious place to spend the weekend. The challenging circuit offers much in the way of gradient change\, tricky corners\, fast corners\, and slower complexes. And like all MSV venues\, it is maintained and presented to an impeccable standard. \nHistoric Formula 2 will headline the action with the second of its UK dates\, bringing these fabulous cars back to Oulton Park. We also have Guards Trophy\, Historic Formula Junior\, Aurora Trophy/Geoff Lees Trophy and the second race in the new Griffiths Haig Trophy for drum brake sports cars. Adding to the HSCC categories will be two grids from Masters Historic Racing for Pre ‘66 Touring Cars and Gentlemen Drivers. Period F1 cars from the HGPCA\, monster Special Saloons and Modsports from the CSCC\, the HRDC Jack Sears Trophy for period touring cars and two races for cars from the Vintage Sports Car Club. \nIt promises to be a fine weekend of racing with a rather different flavour from recent Gold Cups. There is sure to be a bumper crowd at one of the most popular historic racing festivals in the north of the country.
