As usual, the HSCC will be the organising club for the annual Walter Hayes Trophy meeting at Silverstone on 2/3 November as around 130 Formula Fords contest the thrilling knock-out competition on the National circuit. There will be a separate Final for eligible cars built before the end of 1992 to cover the Historic. Classic and Heritage categories.
As well as the headline Formula Ford action, there is scope for a wide range of cars to race in the support events and many Club members often take the chance for a late-season race away from the demands of a season-long championship.
On Saturday there will be two HSCC Closed Wheel races over a specially extended race distance of 20 laps or 25 minutes and with a very competitive entry fee. One race will be for cars from Historic Road Sports. 70s Road Sports, Historic Touring Cars, Guards Trophy GT cars and the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup. The other race will be for cars from Thundersports, Classic Clubmans and Guards Trophy sports-racing cars. Other pre ’81 Historic cars may be accepted at the Club’s discretion.
Entries for the two HSCC Closed Wheel races should be made through the Club’s on-line system. On Sunday there are two Allcomers races: one for single-seaters and one for saloon, GT and sports-racing cars. Entries for these two races will need to be made through the Silverstone Circuit website.
