The Historic Sports Car Club’s Historic Formula 2 Series will make a very welcome return to Europe this autumn following confirmation that the races at Dijon (France) on October 8-10 are going ahead as planned.

The pair of races at the popular Dijon Motor Cup race meeting were always on the provisional F2 schedule for 2021 but COVID travel restrictions have so far badly impacted the traditional F2 calendar.

Now, with the travel situation continuing to improve, the Dijon races are confirmed as the perfect end of season Historic F2 event at this fabulous drivers’ circuit. After free practice and qualifying on Friday, there will be 25-minute races on both Saturday and Sunday.

The first dozen entries are already in, including 10 from the UK, and many more are expected as the European F2 fraternity prepares to meet up properly for the first time since the end of the 2019 season.

Andy Dee-Crowne, CEO of the HSCC, said: “This is the F2 news we have all been waiting for! Historic F2 has always been a pan-European series but that has not been possible again so far this year. Now, the F2 racers can come together at a fabulous circuit for a weekend of competitive and sporting racing.

“We have been able to keep the UK drivers busy this season with several stand-in events, but now we are planning a traditional European F2 calendar once more in 2022. The Dijon event will allow many long-standing friendships across the F2 paddock to be renewed!”
